Why Team Scout

Built different.

How the math actually works

A platform that pays for itself.

We didn't just build a better platform. We built it to generate revenue for your program.

Most platforms in this category make money on per-player fees, transaction fees, or selling ads against your families. We took a different approach — our premium-tier modules are designed to pay for themselves. Here's how:

01

Parents cover the credit-card fee

Other platforms let you pass the fee. We're built around it — the opt-in is the default at checkout. 90%+ of parents say yes, so every dollar of the program's collection lands with the program.

02

Ticketing that lifts gate revenue

QR-coded mobile tickets make it easy for every honest fan to buy at the gate — fewer people slip through, more dollars land with the program. $0 to your org; a flat $1 from the buyer.

03

Program ad sales

25 players each selling one $400 full-page ad = $10,000 gross. Print ~$2,000, net ~$8,000. That covers a full year of Premium many times over — every season.

Plus: 100% of program donations (no platform fees), a volunteer system that frees parents to redirect their energy to sponsorships and ad sales, a merch store, and a powerful team website behind it all.

FAQ

Questions?
We got answers.

Team Scout is the community-first platform for youth sports teams — built around team culture and connection, not spreadsheets. Group communications (the foundation of every program) are free for every team, forever. From there, add registration, payments, a custom team website, merch store, fundraising, and volunteer coordination as your program grows. No more juggling six different apps or wrestling with outdated platforms that feel like they haven't been updated since 2015.

Those platforms were built as admin tools that bolted on a feed. Team Scout is a team experience that includes modern solutions to all the logistics. We're communication-focused — dedicated groups, direct messaging, pinned posts, photos, reactions, everything you'd expect. Families enjoy using our platform to get the information they need and connect with the people they care about.

Never. Your data belongs to you and your team. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for targeted marketing. Period.

This matters because it's not the norm. When you sign up for platforms like SportsEngine, you're automatically opted in to sharing your personal data with over 30 NBCUniversal and Comcast affiliate companies — from Peacock to Xfinity to NBC Sports. You have to actively find and toggle the opt-out yourself. Their privacy policy isn't even their own — it's NBCUniversal's full corporate privacy policy. And there's no single "opt out of everything" button — you have to visit each brand's opt-out page individually, across 27+ separate NBCUniversal properties. Apple's own App Store privacy label flags SportsEngine for using your location, device ID, and usage data to track you across other companies' apps and websites.

We think that's wrong — especially for a platform used by families and student athletes. Team Scout is funded by the teams we serve, not by selling their information.

No. Your team's feed is for your team — not for advertisers. No banner ads, no pop-ups, no "sponsor messages."

If you've used other youth sports platforms, you know exactly what we're talking about. Pop-ups that cover your screen. Banner ads wedged between your kid's game schedule. Full-page takeovers that force you to hunt for a tiny close button. Some platforms even charge you a monthly subscription to remove the ads they put there — and users still report seeing them after paying.

There's enough noise in the world. A platform for families and student athletes should be clean, focused, and distraction-free. That's not a premium feature we charge extra for. That's just how we think it should be.

Yes. Team Scout has a native iOS app, Android app, and a full web dashboard. Coaches update schedules from the sideline. Parents check announcements from the pickup line. Admins run reports from their desk.

Yes. Team feeds, announcements, messaging, photo sharing — free for every team, forever. No limits, no trial period, no credit card. We believe every team deserves great communication tools.

Absolutely. Personal accounts get up to 25 groups with up to 250 members each — generous on purpose. Great for friend groups, Bible studies, neighborhood teams, family chats, anything where you want a clean private space to coordinate. Organization features (announcements, registration, fundraising, websites, merch) live on the org side — if you want those, you create an organization and the Community tier is free.

Most projects range from $700 to $1,500 for a custom site, plus $179/month for full access to the platform suite (your team site, merch store, profiles, registration, payments, fundraising — all of it). We design and build the whole thing — you just use it. Great program with limited funds? Let us know. We can work something out.

Our teams also have the option to set up a merch store — team apparel, gear, spirit wear — that can generate enough revenue to cover the cost of the platform in the first year. Your program's brand, funding itself.

All sports — football, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, cheer, and everything in between. We work with high school, homeschool, club, and private teams. But it doesn't stop there. If your organization needs a better way to organize, communicate, and stay connected — whether that's a sports association, a league, a booster club, or a community program — we can help.

Not at all. If you know how to use any social media app, you'll find navigating and using our platform easy and enjoyable. For websites, we handle all the design and development — you just tell us what you want and we build it.

Enter your phone number, we text you a code, you're in. No passwords to remember, no security questions about your first pet. We also capture a recovery email during signup in case you ever lose your phone or change your number.

For admins who connect financial information, all payment processing is handled through Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 certified infrastructure — the same standard used by Amazon and Shopify. Especially with student athletes on the platform, we don't cut corners on authentication.

Yes. No long-term contracts. No cancellation fees. We're confident you'll stay because the product is good and the service is better.

Absolutely. Our platform is built on Supabase, which is SOC 2 Type II certified and runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use Row Level Security on every database table, which means users can only access data they're authorized to see — there's no way to guess a URL or type in a random ID and pull up someone else's posts or photos. That's not the case with every platform out there.

We don't store passwords (we use one-time codes), we don't sell data, and we don't run ads. With student athletes on the platform, security isn't a feature — it's a requirement.

Our team directly. Text, email, or call. We're in Kansas City and we actually answer. No ticket systems, no chatbots.
